| Something New: Our area now has Customs video telephones. This technology enables you to clear customs, get a number, and then you are cleared to fish Canadian waters, without charge. This eliminates the need to purchase a Remote Area Border Crossing Permit. That way if you would like to go into Canada for the day you don't have to hassle with paperwork or a fee.
However, if you are going to be in Canada on a daily, or extended basis the RABCP is still the best plan. These permits are for the serious fisherman or hunter who will be fishing exclusively in Canada, but for everyone else the daily video phone is free of charge and easy to use.
